Essential garments for F/W: part one

Essential garments for F/W: part one

Pinelle… it’s time to take stock of the fashion situation and this season’s essentials. Some of them we’ve already seen, remember? The colour marsala/burgundy in all of its hues, the coolest make-up, tartan,  lace-up shoes. Not necessarily new trends but certainly all the rage this Fall/Winter.

But there are still lots of garments, all basic and easy-to-wear, that I want to recommend to you for this season! We have picked out 10, and we’ll start with the first five today!

Number 1: the vintage coat! From the short coat with unusual patterns, to the long coat right down to your ankles… or why not, one in a slightly shot, iridescent fabric. The revival effect is guaranteed. We selected a few… Our fave? The red and white one from Topshop and the blue and copper hound’s tooth one by Zara. But trust me… you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Number 2: the tweed jacket/blazer! Even here we don’t know where to start, there are so many styles. Short, slightly long on the hips, with retro elbow patches or with frayed edges. We opted for the long, oversize one by Mango, and for the Topshop model with soft collar. Both are very original!

Number 3: the pleated skirt! Hands up who hasn’t hankered after one of these at least once these past few months. It’s one of the strong pieces your wardrobe cannot do without. Hems vary, from minis to full length… so there is no excuse not to have one! The grey lamé effect skirt by Pinko gets our vote, not to mention the faux leather one by Benetton! 😉

Number 4: The bon ton bag. You can easily match it even with casual outfits, for that “Lady” look that never goes amiss. There are colours to suit all tastes, but our fave is definitely the one by Max&Co, coloured or classic, with a pocket for all needs.

Number 5: the tie-neck blouse. I have bowed many times to this trend even if I’ve often adjusted it slightly. The classic white blouse with black tie neck is an absolute must, but there are lots of variations. If you love this trend then Zara has plenty of treats in store.

Curious to find out the remaining five?? You’ll have to wait until next Tuesday… but until then you can keep guessing… what’s missing?
