Yesterday was another very busy Isola episode, and as always I want to thank you for the support you always give me… today I woke up super hungry and I decided to tell you all about one of my biggest passion… because I can assure you that I eat… I’m a true foodie 🙂 pasta, the queen of the Italian cuisine, is an ingredient that I love… you can eat it in many ways, the most known is the durum wheat one, then there is the corn one, rice, whole wheat, buckwheat… but I have to say that one of my favorite is Kamut pasta, because I find it easier to digest it… I fell less bloated when I eat it and I can always feel all the taste. When I am very hungry, and I feel like having a very tasty and easy meal, I buy zucchini, kamut pasta and chili peppers…I cut the zucchini, sauté them in a pan with a bit of onion and I cook the kamut pasta the minimum I have to, I love pasta al dente…I take it away very soon from the boiling water and I end the cooking process in the pan with the zucchini sauce…a bit of grated cheese and my dish is ready…

I love pasta, not just because I like to eat it, but because it is an ingredient that made the story of our country… I have in mind many scenes from great movies that represented our culture and the different historical period that we lived…
Do you remember the amazing scene from “Poverty and Nobility”, when Toto’ jumps on the table and starts dancing putting spaghetti in his pockets…a true hymn to pasta and a tribute to being together, to happiness, to conviviality…

And then how can we forget about Alberto Sordi…I laugh every time I think about it…unforgettable the scene from “An American in Rome”, when Sordi acting as “Nando Moriconi“, with the obsession for America, refuses a plate of pasta, but then eats it with a lot of enthusiasm… a symbol of the good Italian food habits and of how pasta represents us around the world.
And us, beautiful women, we eat pasta too… do you remember that fantastic black and white pic of Sophia Loren while she was eating a plate of spaghetti… because it is not true that pasta makes you fat… and I think that a nice plate of pasta with veggies is perfect to have energy and taste…
Never say no to pasta, not just for its taste, but because it tells something about us…about our food and about the beauty of being Italian…
