Following the alliance between Dior and the gorgeous Rihanna, today I decided to investigate Roberto Cavalli’s passion for icons of black music!
Cavalli is an unusual and sophisticated brand for strong, dynamic women with intense personalities. That is precisely why the choice of ambassador for the Spring Summer 2015 collection went to the multi-talented Nicki Minaj, a sometimes “aggressive” woman who is proud to shout her femininity from the rooftops.
A woman with a generous figure which she makes into a captivating aesthetic force. The ad campaign was shot in Los Angeles by Francesco Carrozzini and is accompanied by a somewhat sexy video in which the artist shows off all her femininity, perfectly comfortable in her role as a Seventies Goddess, in animal prints, veils and crazy colours.
But the fashion house has another surprise in store… with another ambassador “borrowed” from the world of black music. Again, photographed by Carrozzini, the star of the Fall/Winter 2015/16 campaign is Ciara, the internationally famous US singer-songwriter and style icon just back from her latest American tour with her album Jackie. Young, proud and elegant, she succeeds in interpreting the Cavalli woman effortlessly, and bewitches the lens. Long silk dresses, precious embroideries and an explosion of colour against contrasting background that recalls the sky and the earth, a story of beauty with a hint of wildness.
